Bringing Solar Power to Life at Old Trail School
Old Trail School has been leading by example since 2015, when it installed a 1,250-panel solar array on its campus—an initiative that now generates nearly one-third of the school’s annual power needs. Today, Hello Sunray proudly maintains this solar energy system, ensuring that it continues to operate at peak performance and delivers long-term value to the school and its students.
Recently, Old Trail School received one of the highest honors in the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency’s Encouraging Environmental Excellence in Education program—
an accolade granted to only three K–12 schools statewide this year. The EPA recognized Old Trail for its commitment to sustainability, not only through solar power but also through a wetlands-based water treatment system and a dining hall composting program that reduces waste and educates students on responsible practices.
